  Dental Public Health Unit

The unit is involved in a wide range of health services related research and development, within Wales, the U.K. and beyond.  Current and recent projects include: 

  • Longitudinal study of the management of dental caries in children
  • U.K. surveys of Adult and Child Oral Health
  • A systematic review of the benefits and consequences of water fluoridation
  • An international comparative study of inequalities of childhood dental caries
  • The role of the Internet in Oral Health Education and Promotion
  • The use of computers in collecting oral habits data
  • Public perception of Dental Fluorosis
  • A milk fluoridation project in Peru
  • The development of dental services and education in Uganda
  • Workforce development in Wales and the aspirations of dental specialist trainees in the U.K.
  • The potential of television advertising to impact on oral health
  • Factors influencing the choice of drinks for infants and young children
