Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of the Violence Research Group

Professor Shepherd has extensive expertise in injury and criminology research, process research and multi-agency violence prevention and qualitative research methods. He is expert in the area of the impact of violence on psychological and physical health. He directs the Violence Research Group at Cardiff University and is Chair of Cardiff Violence Prevention Group. He is a member of the group of researchers convened by Sir John Pattison, which is advising the Department of Health on the development of the public health strategy.
