Director of the Welsh Centre for Learning Disabilities Applied Research Unit, Department of Psychological Medicine at Cardiff University where he is a Research Professor.

Professor Felce’s research interests are in the measurement of quality of life, the determinants of quality in staffed community housing services, the analysis and amelioration of challenging behaviour and service development generally in intellectual disabilities. Methodologically, he has a specific interest in behavioural observation and the analysis of sequential events. He is Co-chair of the Welsh Assembly Government's Learning Disability Implementation Advisory Group and President of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities.
